Skunk!!!

I started running last week. Trying to get into a little better shape than what I am now ;D Well, tonight when I went out about a third of the way through...yep, you guessed it!! There in the ditch about twenty feet away was a skunk going about it's business. Eeeek. Thank goodness the dogs listened to me and decided to turn around and run the other direction. :D

It has been a rather uneventful week here, Ray has been doing a few short jobs and mostly shop time so he has been home quite a bit which is really nice! We went swimming last weekend and have been to the parks in Swift Current a couple times which is always nice for a distraction ;D We also have had some thunderstorms but so far have missed out on hail *crosses fingers* but we did get some strong winds earlier in the week that almost flattened my corn. I have to get out there in the morning and weed so I will see how it is doing then. Today we pressure washed the deck and started putting the stain on. The boys loved helping us 'paint' and actually did pretty well for their first time at something that large a scale.

I won the runner up prize package from Homeschool Horizons a little while ago and it came in the mail last week. Very cool collection of things including a book by a Canadian author Ian Wilson called The Secret of the Old Swing Bridge. I have started to read it to Colin at bedtime, chapter by chapter and so far he loves it. I am even enjoying it and am glad to have some quiet time with Colin at the end of the day. Now, speaking of the end of the day, I have come to mine lol. Morning comes all too soon with my little rascals!
